How it works
Subscribe to a channel
In Settings → Twitch, add a Twitch channel and pick the Discord channel the announcement should post to. Each subscription is independent, so different guilds and channels can follow the same streamer their own way.
Nox checks for live streams
In the background, Nox polls the channels you follow on a short cycle and detects when one goes live. There is nothing to keep open or running.
The announcement posts
When the stream starts, Nox posts your announcement — the built-in embed or your custom message — and assigns the live role if you enabled one. Each stream is announced at most once per subscription.
The stream ends
When the streamer goes offline, Nox edits the original announcement into an "ended" form: the embed is recoloured grey and the go-live ping is removed, so the post stays as a tidy record instead of a stale "live now" alert.
The custom message can use these tokens, which are filled in for each go-live:

{{ streamUrl }}works inside text — the ping line, the embed description, titles, and field values. It cannot be used in the embed's dedicated link field, which only accepts a real URL.
Setup checklist
Add a Twitch channel in Settings → Twitch and choose the announcement channel.
Confirm Nox can post in that channel (View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links).
Decide whether to keep the built-in embed or turn on a custom message.
Optionally set a game filter, and optionally pick a live role plus the member it should be assigned to.
Important notes
Each stream is announced once per subscription. If you subscribe after a streamer is already live, their current stream is picked up on the next check rather than re-announced retroactively.
A custom message needs some content — a ping, an embed, or both. An empty field (for example a game token when the streamer has set no category) is dropped automatically so the post never fails on a blank value.
The game filter matches on the stream's category. If a streamer switches into the filtered game mid-stream, the announcement is caught on a later check rather than the instant they switch.
If an announcement can never be delivered — the channel was deleted, or Nox lost access to it — the subscription is disabled and an Errors page entry is recorded so an admin can fix it.
Troubleshooting
No announcement when a streamer goes live
Check that the subscription is enabled and that announcements are turned on with a channel selected. Confirm Nox can see and post in that channel, and note that a brand-new stream is detected on the next background check, not instantly.
The announcement posted but has no embed
A custom message with only token fields that all rendered empty (no title, no game) falls back to a plain content post. Add static text or a different token if you always want an embed.
The live role wasn't assigned
Role assignment is best-effort and never blocks the announcement. Make sure the role sits below Nox's highest role and that Manage Roles is granted; a failure is recorded on the Errors page rather than retried silently.
The subscription disabled itself
That happens after a permanent delivery failure — usually a deleted channel or lost access. Fix the channel or permissions, then re-enable the subscription in Settings.
