Currency

Key features

Custom server currency

Configure the name, symbol, and reward values that make currency feel native to your community.

Daily collection

Members can collect currency on a cooldown, creating a simple reason to return without needing staff to run an event. Collection also feeds quest progress when daily or weekly collection goals are active.

Shop and inventory

Sell configured items through the shop, let members review inventory, use items, and gift supported items to other members. Shop items include streak protection, theft protection, cures, and gift cards.

Games and risk

Slots, tarot, and stealing give members playful ways to spend, win, lose, or move currency. Tarot can award currency, XP bonuses, penalties, protection items, cures, or gift cards; slots can hit fruit or currency jackpots; and stealing can succeed, fail, fine the actor, or punish House betrayal.

Reward integration

Currency can be granted by leveling, quests, achievements, giveaways, and other reward features.

Best for

  • Communities that want a lightweight economy around activity, rewards, and playful commands.

  • Servers that want a shop with collectable or usable items.

  • Progression systems where XP, achievements, quests, and giveaways should feed into the same member balance.

How it works

Staff configure currency

Choose the currency identity and tune reward values so economy rewards fit the pace of your server.

Members earn and collect

Members earn balances from rewards and can collect currency on the configured cooldown.

Members spend or play

Currency can be spent in the shop, used with inventory items, risked in games, or moved through supported social economy commands.

Nox records outcomes

Economy commands update balances, inventory, cooldowns, and activity records so outcomes are visible and repeatable.

Shop item reference

Prices use the server's configured member currency. House buffs are not bought from the shop; House officers start them together through House rally.

Tarot reward reference

The /tarot command has a 100 currency buy-in. Reward weights total 100 before member-specific eligibility is applied. Currency-loss outcomes are unavailable below 10,000 currency, reward-key outcomes can be blocked by cooldowns, and unavailable weight is reassigned to Nothing.

Setup checklist

  • Choose a currency name and symbol before announcing the economy to members.

  • Set collection, quest, achievement, giveaway, and level reward values together so one source does not overwhelm the rest.

  • Add shop items with clear names, prices, effects, and gifting behaviour.

  • Decide whether risk-based commands such as stealing and games fit your community tone before promoting them.

Important notes

  • Currency is member state. Deleting member progress can remove balances and inventory depending on the cleanup action selected by staff.

  • Daily collection uses a cooldown. Members cannot bypass the cooldown by repeating the command.

  • Tarot sessions are interactive and temporary. Outcomes can include nothing, direct currency changes, temporary XP or currency effects, cures, gift cards, or streak protection items.

  • Stealing is intentionally risk-based. Members need enough currency to try, protected balances cannot be targeted, failed attempts can apply fines and penalties, and stealing from a House teammate has harsher consequences.

  • Slots have a fixed buy-in and jackpot-style outcomes. Misses can still occasionally grant a temporary currency buff, so a losing spin can become a future reward opportunity.

Troubleshooting

A member cannot collect yet

Check whether their collection cooldown is still active.

A shop purchase failed

Confirm the member has enough currency, the item still exists, and the item can be purchased or used in its current state.

A tarot interaction expired

Start a fresh tarot session. Temporary interaction sessions can expire after the active flow is abandoned.
